Dominion: Intrigue is an expansion, and cannot be played by itself; to play with it, you need the Basic cards and rulebook (Dominion provides both). Dominion: Intrigue can also be combined with any other Dominion expansions you have. This is the second edition of Intrigue. Six cards were replaced and one added compared to the first edition. Intrigue is the 1st expansion to Dominion. It has 300 cards, with 26 new Kingdom cards. There are victory cards that do things for you, underlings that give you a choice as to what they do, and a variety of other cards.

Description of Dominion Intrigue Rules:
Dominion Intrigue expands upon Dominion by adding new cards and thus more possible card combinations. If you didn’t read it you can find my review of the Dominion game here. This review will show some of the differences between the two games and highlight some of the new things introduced in Dominion Intrigue.
Dominion Intrigue has the same gameplay as Dominion and is still very easy to teach and learn. The new cards in Intrigue offer more options per card. A few say choose option one, two or three. Others may let you gain a card and based on the type of card you gain, you’ll add either a buy, a card or a treasure. These increased decisions can slow the game down a little, but usually the difference is negligible.
The major difference in the cards is that now there are action-victory and treasure-victory cards. These cards allow you to earn victory points but not clog up your deck as they can serve other purposes. This is a nice upgrade and allows you to buy victory points anytime, not just the mid to late game.
A Quick Review of Dominion Intrigue:
I have been enjoying playing Dominion a lot recently and for my birthday my wife got me Dominion Intrigue. First being able to expand the game to six players is awesome. The new cards with dual uses are a nice change and having more options for cards in the supply is fantastic. Honestly I cannot think of any negatives about this expansion if you are already playing and enjoying the base Dominion game.

Alchemy is the 3rd expansion Dominion. It adds new Kingdom cards to Dominion and as it is an expansion, you will need Dominion, or Dominion: Intrigue to play the game.
There are strange things going on in your basement laboratories. They keep calling up for more barrels of quicksilver, or bits of your hair. Well it’s all in the name of progress. They’re looking for a way to turn lead into gold, or at least into something better than lead. That lead had just been too good of a bargain to pass up; you didn’t think, where will I put all this lead, what am I going to do with this lead anyway. Well that will all be sorted out. They’re also looking for a universal solvent. If they manage that one, you will take whatever they use to hold it in and build a castle out of it. A castle that can’t be dissolved! Now that’s progress.
